Meh… surfacing… I hate it. Means pressing f9 thousands of times and waiting between 10 and 30 seconds just to get feedback on what my scene looks like. I’d do low quality previews, but then it messes with stuff like anti-aliasing and it gets harder to catch errors. Throw on top of that the fact that I’m kind of a newb at this and it makes things that much slower.

I will be selectively prioritizing the amount of effort I put into my texturing/surfacing so that production demands don’t get out of control. The idea is to only put details where I expect the camera to actually go near to… and anything else can just be added as needed.
