I thought I’d pull from my test animation archives and post it here. In 3d animation, doing things like shown in the video below is usually incredibly hard or time consuming to do. This method I’ve been developing over the last month or so involves little more than sticking 2 nulls on an object, and “baking” out the keyframe ranges in which I wish to have the character’s hand hold on to the box. (Baking refers to placement of keyframes in a sequential manner, typically paired with automation controls).

This animation demonstrates total control over not only the character’s hands, but the box itself as well. Probably a little mundane to some, but I was pretty damn excited when I came up with these results. My character interaction tests were kind of a catalyst to the workflow.
